We received enough snow to open more trails. Although Forest City did receive a decent amount of snow the best riding will be found from the Speakeasy/Arlo’s area up to Lakewood and over to Pleasant Mount.
Late season riding conditions are in effect. There is water and unfrozen ground under this fresh snow. Ride with caution as you may encounter closed gates.
The owner of the golf course is keeping the gates closed due to the unfrozen ground. Do not go across the golf course on the B trail. Go up and along the shoulder of the road and jump back on the trail.
We don’t think this snow will last, given the forecast this is a “here today, gone tomorrow” snow typical of this time of year. Warm air and rain returns Thursday into Friday so this opening will be short lived so get out if you can. It’s very possible the trails from Simpson to Forest city will be closed sooner, depending on Wednesdays weather. Stay tuned for updates.
